Robert Vizzini was born in Brooklyn, New York in 1952. Being mostly self-taught he has been photographing seriously since 1991. A workshop with Michael Kenna in 1997 solidified his passion for low-light shooting. Being out in the expanse of nature, Vizzini finds a sense of freedom that he has been seeking since childhood. This is the driving force for his photography and the attraction for much of his subject matter. Known for his “spare and elegant eye” Robert’s work has been featured in many of the major art photography publications including, Aperture, Blind Spot, DoubleTake, and Black & White Magazine. Vizzini was the first recipient of the New Discovery Award, of the International Photography Awards. His work is in many public collections including, Bibliotèque nationale de France, Paris, France; Southeast Museum of Photography, Daytona Beach, Florida, USA, and Swiss Re Capital Partners, Zurich, Switzerland.
